Paris is home to delights such as macarons and Paris-Brests however many have been scared off by the difficulty of making French Pâtisserie. I mean we’ve all seen how wrong it can go on GBBO. But I’m here to teach you a simple recipe to make one of these French delights, one that you’ll find in every pâtisserie in Paris and all over the UK. Eclairs!

Paris Sacre Coeur Skyline Eclairs are source of much debate whether they are the invention of French chef Antionin Careme or originated from Belgium and are instead called pain à la Duchess. Wherever they are from, they are delicious and are always snapped up fast at my Gran’s house which is ironic as eclair is French for flash of lightning named for how fast they’re eaten.

Eclairs can be found in every pâtisserie in Paris but there are a few places you should definitely visit to try this delightful pastry. L'Éclair de Génie is one to put on your list, with three bakeries across Paris and with flavors such as passionfruit and raspberry and salted caramel butter, L'Éclair de Génie is a must for any tourist. Pâtisserie Stohrer is a traditional Parisian pâtisserie serving delights such as pain au chocolat and macarons as well as eclairs. L'Atelier de l'Éclair is a pâtisserie specializing in different flavours of eclairs from hazelnut flavour to lemonade, this pâtisserie is a tasty find for any eclair lover.

Bon Appetit!
